'Do your Children have the Right Furniture?' ask Childrens Bed Centres

March 14, 2013

Here at Childrens Bed Centres we understand the importance of having children’s beds and bedroom furniture that is suitable for your child.  What might be suitable for older children, or an adult, typically won't be right in a child's bedroom.  You'll need to know what kids furniture you need, and what to look for, so that you don’t make an expensive mistake or unsuitable choice.

1)  All of the kid's bedroom furniture on the Childrens Bed Centres site is suitable for using in your child's bedroom.  Many items are wipe-clean so that they won't be damaged by pens, or other accidents.  Attention to detail is essential, and all products are designed so that they won't dent or break easily, and are strong enough to last as long as you need them to. Most importantly, all of our bedroom furniture meets the relevant safety standards.

2)  There are many different styles and models of beds available via our website.  You can choose from cabin beds, toddler beds, bunk beds, children’s four poster beds, storage beds, captains beds, tent beds, study beds and sleepover beds, depending on the age and requirements of your child, and the amount of space you have.

3)  You'll need a wardrobe for your children's clothes, and perhaps to store toys, books or other things they like to play with too.  You'll want to make sure that there's plenty of space for bigger clothes, as your child grows.  Our double combi wardrobe typically has a middle shelf which can be removed for hanging larger items as your child gets older.

4)  For younger children, a chest of drawers might be more appropriate, as their clothes will be smaller.  Drawers also offer a space for bedding and additional blankets, so that they are kept where they are most needed.

5)  Bedside tables are the ideal place for a bedside lamp, and also the best place for a drink and books to read at bedtime.  With a shelf and a cupboard underneath, there'll also be space for a clock, and the other essentials that need to be easily accessible.

6)  Desks have so many uses, and once your child has finished their homework free from the distractions of being downstairs, they can use their desk for drawing on, or when they’re reading, or playing.  Desks can also be used as a dresser, especially in the case of girls who like to play dress up.  The storage pedestals are ideal for stationary or toiletries (for older children) and other personal belongings.

7)  Shelves can be used to provide additional storage, and are especially useful when floor space is limited.  Ideal for keeping precious or sentimental items out of harms way, storing books and a myriad of other uses, your child will find their shelves invaluable.

8)  No matter what children's furniture you need, you definitely want value for money, and choosing quality products is essential.  You'll want to know that they are practically designed to be used by your children, and to be safe and able to withstand everything your children will subject them to.
